Thornton & Grooms, a top local heating and cooling company, is proud to announce that its president and owner, Matthew Bergstrom, has been appointed to the Nexstar Network’s board of directors.
Nexstar was founded in 1992 and is dedicated to maintaining excellence in the service industry by sharing best practices in customer service among its 400 members across the United States, Canada, and Australia. Its core values of integrity, quality, value and exceptional service are aimed at keeping standards high across the industry. Members may only join by invitation, and must maintain strict standards of service.
By sharing knowledge, Nexstar has improved service, technology, and most importantly, safety across the industry. Membership is known as a mark of superior training and service.
Matthew Bergstrom started his career at Bergstrom Plumbing and in 2004, along with Mike Bergstrom and Dave Knight, purchased Thornton & Grooms. His core business philosophy is, “Value people and love what you do.”
These values have served him well; he was nominated to be a board member for Nexstar by his peers, elected to serve, and his appointment was announced in October. He will serve a two-year term as one of only six members who will act as guides for the members of the organization.
Bergstrom said, "It is an exciting opportunity to work closely with folks that are great at what they do in the plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical field and I welcome the chance to assist Nexstar and its members with their success."
In addition to the opportunity to help others, Bergstrom feels that his new role will also be beneficial to his own company. He stated, "My appointment will help Thornton & Grooms by permitting me to work with other exceptional companies, allowing us to be exposed to different perspectives, and to grow professionally in our trade."
Matthew is a member of Nexstar, ACCA, and the Birmingham/Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce. He is a lifelong Michigander and graduated from Northville High School and Grand Valley State University. He is actively involved in serving his church and travels local and abroad on mission trips helping others. In his free time he enjoys skiing - both water and snow - running, golf, and anything that allows him to get outside.
